Amongst the historical and iconic concrete structures in Ireland, the Boland’s Mill 1916 has been intertwined with the Irish history for a long time. Conquered by the 3rd battalion of Irish Volunteers led by De Valera during 1916 Easter rising Ireland; it served as their headquarters during the emergency times. However, a lot has changed since then. And this iconic building also had to face the wrath of time as it became decrepit and desolated. It has since been redeveloped by architects and the new structures fascinate me greatly. Especially, the room with rusty pipes and dilapidated gauges seems like the set of a Doctor Who episode.
