About this image
In this photo you see an example of a Turlough in the Burren, County Clare. A Turlough, or Turlach, is a unique type of disappearing lake found mostly in limestone areas of Ireland, west of the River Shannon. I loved the forms of the gnarly bushes, which were covered in mud and exposed after the water level had subsided.
Turlough, the Burren 1 received a Gold award in 2011 IPPA photographer of the year awards.
