About this image
Achill island is the largest island off the Irish coast. It is situated off the west coast of county Mayo and linked to the mainland by a bridge. Keem Strand is located on the western tip of the island. Sheltered by spectacular sea cliffs and surrounded by a blue water this beach is arguably one of the most beautiful and scenic sandy beaches on the west coast of Ireland.
This black and white landscape photograph was taken as I was walking around and noticed that the unusual patterns in the sand formed from the movement of the sea water mirrors the triangular rock to form a strong composition.
