About this image
I captured these burnt furze bushes on my first ever trip to Cape Clear island (known also by its Irish name Cléire, or Oileán Chléire) which lies of south west of County Cork in Ireland. It is the southernmost inhabited part of Ireland and has a population of over 100 people. Cape Clear is officially a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) and hosts the Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival on the first weekend of September. The photograph taken on a sunny autumn day. The bushes are like clawed hands, forming a silhouette against the clear sky. The composition works perfectly for black and white as it breaks down any distractions to the 2 main points of focus - the bushes.
